Featured Artist: Debbie Carlos

The Artcetera Gallery recently went through a makeover. The new look and feel of the space enabled the art to be exhibited in a way more conducive to appreciating the work.

A corner has been created a corner for featured artists. Additionally, there is all new artwork in the gallery. Currently on feature is the photography of Debbie Carlos.

Debbie was born in Los Angeles, raised in Manila, studied psychology in Massachusetts and photography at SAIC in Chicago. She recently moved to Michigan, but we are ecstatic to have her large archival prints for sale in the Artcetera Gallery. Her work has been featured in episodes on HGTV and has developed quite a following with her online sales. She also creates beautiful jewelry, soon to be for sale in the gallery.

As with all artwork, the subtle qualities and beauty of Carlos's work is best appreciated in person. We hope you're able to come by the gallery to enjoy the excellent works of our current, featured artist.

Waterlilies by Brad Waggoner and Ted Foss

Brad Waggoner Three Lilies, photograph (8" x 10" image - 14" x 16" framed) $175

Ted Foss Waterlily, photograph on canvas (20" x 16 1/2") $150

Summer always makes me think of waterlilies. I remember taking boat rides with my grandfather hoping to spy a water-beauty along the shoreline as we enjoyed the breezes off the lake. We have two such beauties here in ARTcetera. Brad Waggoner's Three Lilies comes double matted navy over white with a nice navy frame. Ted Foss' Water Lily has been printed onto canvas and looks great with the image wrapping around the sides. Both radiate summer in full bloom.

Photographers: Tell Draper and Ted Foss

Tell Draper, Sumac Sunset $125 (image size 3" x 5", framed size 8.5" x 10.5" photograph)

Ted Foss, English Garden $120 (11" x 14" photograph)

There are some interesting things happening with photography. The images are now being printed onto all kinds of surfaces. Tell Draper of Vernon Hills, IL has printed his on watercolor paper and Ted Foss of Antioch, IL has begun experimenting with printing on canvas. The results are intriguing. You really need to come to ARTcetera to see the full effect.
